Continuing my shibari rope journey, this set offers another view of Jay. I have been learning new techniques and knot designs to show off the beauty of the bindings as they wrap around my models' bodies. This series includes many different poses of Jay wearing nothing but rope.

I had the good fortune to work with Jay for another amazing photo shoot. We shot together for nearly two hours and came up with some stunning images. She has the ability to connect with the camera and is very expressive without a word being spoken. Our most recent session included a wide range of genres including portraits, boudoir, glamour, bindings and bondage.

October is breast cancer awareness month!
The amazing Ophelia K was more than happy to help me bring this set together and fight the ongoing stigma around breast cancer. According to the National Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation, 1 in 8 women in the United States will develop breast cancer in her lifetime. On average, every 2 minutes a woman is diagnosed with breast cancer in the United States. There are over 3.5 million breast cancer survivors in the United States. Custom Leather Chest Harness ft. Ophelia vol. 2

 

Ophelia in leather and denim. I custom made this leather chest harness on a mannequin using average measurements and allowing for a real-world fitting with adjustable straps. It fit Ophelia very well although there were a few slips as she moved around. Once we finished the normal fit as seen in the last post, we shifted it down to be more revealing.

Custom Leather Chest Harness ft. Ophelia vol. 1

 

Ophelia in leather and denim. I custom made this leather chest harness on a mannequin using average measurements and allowing for a real-world fitting with adjustable straps. I took several hours to test and re-fit the lengths and angles to make a pleasing design. I used a selection of different lengths of leather, rivets, and steel rings. It fit Ophelia very well although there were a few slips as she moved around.

Using the same bindings as the previous post, Jay pulled up a chair and with a strategically placed spare rope, obscured just enough to keep herself from being over exposed. That didn't last long though and so I have to give you my usual disclaimer

Shibari - Unique Rope Bindings with Jay vol. 1

 

Creating a unique rope binding on Jay that leaves little to the imagination. This jute rope has quickly become my favorite for shibari bindings. It ties beautifully and holds tension and knots really well.

Adding a third layer to the pentagram chest harness, we included a wrist binding that also restricted both arms against her chest into a meditative or praying pose.

Playing with ropes. That's the best way to describe my sessions with Jay. We meet up and play with ropes. In this first set, we started with a chest harness in a pentagram design and made use of her skirt for a variety of poses.

Shibari is a beautiful art form. It compliments the natural curves and shapes of the female form beautifully. Kitty modeled for me sans clothes allowing the rope to wrap and bind around her body.

Sweaters Are Sexy ft. Ophelia vol. 3

Sweaters can be worn as an accessory or as a shirt with nothing else beneath. This piece is from my wardrobe kit and has a single closure at the neck which allows the sweater to drape open across the breasts. When I purchased this sweater, it was waist-length and the sleeves were much longer and cuffed. Then I cut it off and frayed the sleeves and body to make a cropped accessory for sessions just like this one. A side effect I didn't foresee is that when the model raises her arms or twists, the sweater spreads open revealing everything beneath. Instead of a skirt, Ophelia wore a black scarf tied around her hips. You can find more black scarf poses here. And now I present to you a very sexy sweater set...

Shibari: Dragonfly ft. Jay

The Dragonfly or Ladder Binding begins at the shoulder and captures the arms equally from both sides and down to the wrists immobilizing the model's arms. It is a beautiful design and in this set, I added it to the previously tied Hishi Karada rope dress. There are glimpses of nudity in this set therefore it is Not Safe For Work

Black Scarf ft. Ophelia

I have a wide variety of scarves to use for fashion and glamour sessions. This black scarf is one of the longest and softest in my collection. Ophelia wore it with nothing else but got full body coverage creating a tube top and skirt from the same piece of fabric. She held it so perfectly she made it incredibly sexy to wear a scarf.

Kitty tied this design on herself leaving me to apply the finishing knot to keep it bound. The Day of the Dead mask is from my hand-made collection and fit perfectly with the color scheme of the wardrobe and rope bindings.

Curtain Call ft. Ophelia

It's time for your curtain call!!!
When the performance is done and the curtains have come down, the audience will applaud and at times give a standing ovation. Its only right that the performer comes out from behind the curtain to acknowledge the ovation. But what if you have already disrobed? Then I guess you come to the stage in the nude and tease your audience again.

The Sexy Librarian ft. Jay vol. 1

Who wouldn't love to see the other side of their shy librarian come out from behind those glasses? Some new wardrobe and a few props gets you believing a whole new version of Jay. Is she a librarian? Does she need those glasses? Is she wearing pants? In a word, NO. But she has you wanting more.

Ophelia is a delight to have in my studio. Her energy and connection to the camera are so much fun and result in absolutely striking images. Even when she's only given a scarf to play with, her personality shines through and you can't help but look deeper into her eyes.

Shibari: Rope Dress ft. Jay

Definition: Shibari is a Japanese term meaning "to tie." It is an art form which involves weaving intricate knots for binding and suspending people for artistic and erotic purposes.

I find the art of Shibari to be beautiful in how it is interwoven with the body. I have admired this art form for many years and am now confident in my abilities to share them now. It takes a lot of trust to allow yourself to be bound and vulnerable, while at the same time being on display for the camera. I also have to thank Jay, for being an amazing model and volunteering herself to my art. The design you see below is called Hishi Karada, or rope dress, or diamond harness. It has many names and its beautiful no matter what you call it.

Rose Petals ft. Ophelia

This series began as an idea to recreate the rose petal scene from American Beauty. However the limitations of my small studio and the height of the model kept that idea from being reproduced. I wasn't able to get as high as necessary to get the proper angle on KOphelia. The rose petals did get featured all around (and sometimes on) her body.

Black tie is usually reserved for very formal occasions. Here, we are decidedly informal. Ophelia is wearing a classic bow tie and fishnet stockings but somehow neglected to wear a dress. Its a playful tease of props and posing. Here is part two from Ophelia's black tie session.

Throwback Thursday
Revisiting a past session showcasing dramatic lighting and the female form. The window is one of my custom built light modifiers which I can use to create the appearance of sunlight filtering through a window panel that creates beautiful, soft side lighting. The shadow side is actually lit similarly with another custom made light modifier and the two are placed opposite each other in the studio to create this effect. This gives me the option of including it in the frame or using it only as a light source and cropping it out completely.

I keep several men's dress shirts in my wardrobe kit in smaller sizes to include in boudoir photo sessions. In this case, I added a set of cuff links from my personal collection to add a little extra sparkle to the shirt. This is a very playful set giving and taking away little glimpses of what's underneath.

I Love the Beatles ft. Ophelia

I have a wide variety of shredded t-shirts I created to use for photo sessions like this one. KOphelia chose one of my first creations, I ♥ the Beatles. Its hard not to be playful and mess around in this shirt.
